Week Five Highlight

Alec Soth is my favourite photographer because most of his work has a dream like quality to them.

this image is one of my favourite's because the scene looks so pure and then there is a shabby looking house put onto it. I also love the vibrant reds used in the image.

I think this image is quite humorous because it seems like the house is in the middle of nowhere and yet the house number is '706'.

Week Four Highlight

This image was created by fashion photographer Zanna. I chose one of her less fashion based images because i think a few of her still life's are great. This particular image is tea in a glass.

I love the depth of field in this image because it obviously focuses on the glass and some how it looks more intimate and less cold. Looking at the background, even though it is blurred you can tell that if it were in focus you'd get a much colder look to the image

Week Three Highlight

Arno Fischer's book 'Der Garten' is one of my favourites. I first saw it hunting though the shelves at the Photographers Gallery. I bought it shortly after that visit.
The book consists of 30 years of work. All taken with a SX 70 polaroid camera. In 1978 Arno Fischer and Sibylle Bergemann Bought a barn and lived and worked in it. Arno took many pictures of the garden inside and aviaries that they built.
I think they are a wonderful collection of images.

Week Two Highlight

I found this image by Hendrik Kerstens really good because it looks like a 17th century painting. I love how it's been updated with the plastic bag replacing the elegant head piece. I also love how everything is black but her skin and the bag is so pale.

Week One Highlight

This week I have found the photography of Marjaana Kella very inspiring. I love the colours in this image because they are sovibrant.

I love her work because all her models lose identity in a very beautiful and bland way. I also like the depth of field, how it is so shallow that you only get the detail from the hair thats lit.
